Rupee hits all-time low, opens at 60.95 per dollar

The Indian rupee opened at 60.95 per dollar versus closing of 60.22 Friday, hitting an all-time low.

Arvind Narayanan, DBS Bank said, "The rupee is likely to weaken on strong US data. However, the weakness may be capped as RBI may sell dollar at higher levels. The range for the day is seen between 60.30- 60.80/USD."

The dollar hit a fresh three-year high against a basket of major currencies as market expectations grew that the Fed will scale back stimulus as early as September following solid jobs growth. The dollex was firm above 84.
