Jakarta Composite declined 24.01 points or 0.54 percent to 4,408.58 while South Korea's Seoul Composite lost 9.98 points or 0.49 percent to 2,029.44 and Taiwan Weighted was down 45.94 points or 0.55 percent to 8,342.24.
However, China's Shanghai Composite rose 4.21 points to 2,153.77 and Singapore's Straits Times was up 0.81 points to 3,202.01.
Indian markets are shut today for Diwali festival and financial markets in Japan shut for public holiday.
Events for the current week are monetary policy meetings of European Central Bank, Bank of England and Reserve Bank of Australia. Also watch out for employment reports from Australia and US non-farm payrolls data.
Wall Street stocks rose on Friday, with the S&P 500 posting a fourth weekly gain following a better-than-anticipated manufacturing report. The Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index came in at 56.4 in October, beating estimates for a drop to 55.0 from 56.2 in September.
