Chennai Petroleum Q2 profit soars 2-fold to Rs 120.34cr

Chennai Petroleum Corporation , an Indian Oil Corp group company, posted over two-fold jump in net profit to Rs 120.34 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 59.11 crore during the same period last year.

Total income from operations rose to Rs 13,111.95 crore in the second quarter this year, from Rs 7,787.01 crore during the corresponding period of previous year, the company said in a statement.

For the half-year ending September 30, 2013, the company registered net loss at Rs 256.85 crore as against a net loss of Rs 909.78 crore.

Total income from operations grew to Rs 24,642.61 crore during April-September this year, from Rs 18,830.21 crore during the same period of previous year.
