The RBI  recently issued a circular and has notified amendments to the Foreign Exchange Management (Transfer or Issue of Security by a Person Resident Outside India) Regulations, 2000 [FEMA 20], notifying the framework for FPIs to implement portfolio investments in Indian securities.
