According to Ventura Securities, the markets to open on a flat note.
Sensex, on Thursday, gained 78points and closed at 26,638, backed by sustained buoyancy in FII inflows. Among sectors, Capital Goods, Oil & Gas, and FMCG provided strong support to the market. Among stocks, BHEL, BPCL, IDFC, GAIL and ONGC gained the most. However, market breadth was negative with 1,350 advances against 1,593 declines.
Nifty gained 18 points and closed at 7,954. Today we expect the markets to open on a flat note. US markets are closed today due to Labour Day.
US markets, on Friday, ended the day on positive note. Dow Jones and Nasdaq were up by 0.11 percent and 0.49 percent. The gains were contained due to lower than expected consumer spending data and worsening of Russian-Ukraine crises. US markets, in the week, will see data releases on Market PMI, Construction Spending, Unemployment and Trade Deficit.
Asian markets are trading on a positive note with Nikkei up 0.28 percent and Hang Seng up by 0.08 percent. SGX Nifty is trading down by 6 points at 8,026. Indian ADRs ended the day on a flat note. Among financial ADRs, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank were both up by 0.5 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively. Among IT ADRs, Wipro closed flat while Infosys was up 0.2 percent. Tata Motors was up by 0.6 percent.
